As recorded by the 10,000 Maniacs on their 'MTV Unplugged Album' in 1993.

This is one of my Favorite songs done by 10,000 Maniacs from their MTV
Unplugged Album. Originally written by Bruce Springsteen & Patti Smith, this
version is a bit different, utilizing some different words & emphasizing 
some
different changes, chords, & beats. (Unfortunately OLGA won't let me print
all of the lyrics for fear of being sued -- sorry folks -- I'm only allowed 
to use a
few words to indicate the beginning of lines & some important changes) The
Instrumental Solo is the only part of the song that I tried to leave open to
interpretation because it was done on volin, everything else is pretty much
dead on.  It is rather difficult to emulate the beginning & ending of this 
song
since it's done on piano, but I feel that what I have here works well.  I 
usually
use a lot of chord substitutions, so this is just a very elemental version
of what I play when I play this song out.  I blend fingerpicked chords &
strummed chords throughout the song for dynamic purposes - this adds a 
little
more color - please play this song how you like, what I have below is just a
rough guide . . . but it is rather accurate.
