Subject: Set 'em up Joe - Vern Gosdin
This song made me a lifelong Vern Gosdin fanatic - wish he'd come back
out on the road. The song is in D - but I like to play it in the C
position by putting the Capo at the 2nd fret. The existing version on
Cowpie has the chords pretty close - but some of the words are
incorrect. The "ET", of course, refers to Ernest Tubb - and the
Troubadours were his band. Together they did "Walkin' the Floor" among
their many hits.
INTRO - D G D G D (single note)
D G
They got a vintage Victrola 1951
D G
Full of my favorite records that I grew up on
D G
They got ole Hank 'n Lefty and there's B24
D G D
Set 'em up Joe and play Walkin' the Floor
D G D D7
Set 'em up Joe and play Walkin' the Floor
CHORUS:
G A D
I'm gonna spend tonight like every night before
A D D7
Playing ET and I'll play him some more
G A D Bm
I gotta have a shot of them old Troubadours
D G D
Set 'em up Joe and play Walkin' the Floor
D G D
Set 'em up Joe and play Walkin' the Floor
All my neon neighbors they like what I play
Cause they've heard it every night since you walked away
And every day they replace ole B24
Cause every night I run the needle through Walkin' the Floor
Yeah every night I run the needle through Walkin' the Floor
CHORUS:
